EMDR Therapy Intensives
An accelerated way to create lasting change.
Intensives help you go from “shaken” to “settled” quickly so you can move forward in a matter of days versus months or years in weekly therapy.
Do you find yourself consumed by worry, guilt, anxiety, stress, restless nights, fear of loss, and things you can’t control? You deserve to feel hopeful, more relaxed, safe, trusting, and carefree.
An EMDR Therapy Intensive can help you:
Laugh, feel free, live happy, and love openly.
Reduce or eliminate anxiety and panic. Let go of things you can’t control.
Express yourself and set limits without guilt or worry.
Create lasting changes for healthy relationships.
Resolve painful childhood experiences, and learn to trust yourself and others.
Work through the root of self-sabotage, addictions, limitations, and perfectionism.
Quiet your inner critic, awaken your inner child, and reclaim self-love.

Healing intensives are geared for people who are motivated to address distressing events, thoughts, and feelings NOW. EMDR can help with:
👉 Negative Core Beliefs: The world’s not safe; I don’t measure up, I’m unloveable, I’m invisible, I’m bad, I’m a failure, I must be perfect, I don’t matter, I’m weak, and so on.
👉 Challenging Relational Patterns: Giving too much of yourself, difficulty trusting, anxiety or avoidance in relationships, fear that you’re no enough, feeling weak, needing control or fear of being out of control.
👉 Single Incident Acute Trauma: Car accidents (often paid by insurance). medical trauma, natural disasters, assault, sudden loss, violent attacks, infidelity, domestic or international terrorism, etc.
👉 Chronic or Complex Trauma: Neglect, addiction, chronic pain, childhood trauma, sexual / physical / emotional abuse, divorce, bullying, school violence, relationship(s) with those suffering from personality disorders.
👉 Vicarious Trauma: First responders, attorneys, medical professionals, therapists, executives, being witness to distressing events.
An Intensive can provide the breakthrough you need to get unstuck, minimize reactivity, see outside of the trauma, and finally feel free!
You no longer need to keep living with constant distress. Sign up for an EMDR intensive and end the cycle of trauma.

FAQs
-
EMDR rewires stored distress, (locked in isolation in a part of our brain) allowing for more space between a perceived threat and a reaction.
EMDR temporarily slows down your over-stimulated amygdala and synchronizes your brain waves, helping you reprocess and reorganize what’s been stuck.

I offer three differing options to meet individual needs:
Extended Sessions typically 2-4 hours, scheduled as needed.
Single Issue Intensives (1-3 days): Focused on one very specific goal. Even if there are multiple pieces to work on, your intensive is solely focused on the specific content you have chosen, or that we’ve collaboratively deduced to the most significant for now.
Story Clearing Intensives: (4-5 days). A comprehensive treatment. You want to go for it and reprocess several targets and ongoing stressors. This includes childhood traumas, attachment wounds, complex trauma, etc.

Please keep in mind it is called an intensive for a reason. The work is certainly intense but what you’ve been experiencing is hard and not something you need to keep living with!
Personally, in my therapy, I found the time between weekly sessions extremely overwhelming, which is why I’m a fan of consecutive days in a retreat style format.
Intensives are not for everyone. A thorough assessment of readiness for intensive work is provided in the free discovery call. I will help you decide if it’s right for you.

Typically, sessions will begin around 9 am and end by 5 pm, though that schedule is flexible to accommodate the process of healing. The amount of time we will be working each day will fluctuate, depending entirely on the work we are doing.
There will be time in between sessions throughout the day for rest and self-care. This allows for quality moments to decompress and create nurturing space between each session.

My practice is located just outside of Asheville, North Carolina. Folks can and do ravel from all over the world to spend a few days with me in an intensive and then return home to their daily lives.
If you will be traveling here, I can provide you with more detailed information regarding your stay, transportation, the airport etc.
For an added fee, or scholarship, there is an option to stay in a private room with a private bathroom at the retreat. Meals to be included with the retreat stay.

Many clients can complete an Intensive and then return to their lives ready to simply move forward.
Some clients will benefit from having a working relationship with a therapist to help them process challenges that were not addressed in one intensive.
Some clients will need to schedule more than one intensive to fully process and heal their larger, layered traumas, and in these cases, a weekly therapist to may be recommended or required to help manage things between Intensives. This will be thoroughly assessed and discussed in the intake.
-
In the long run, intensives are more cost effective because the therapy is concentrated and highly focused. The work is much more efficient and in the end, requires less session time and quicker relief.
I offer a couple of options to meet differing needs. Extended sessions are offered anywhere from 2-4 hours at $200/hour.
Since we will be reserving the entire day, working solely with you, I charge a daily rate of $1,200/day. The half day rate is $600. A 50% deposit will be required to confirm your Intensive reservation, and the remaining 50% will be paid on the last day of the Intensive.

EMDR Intensive Research
For Teens and Adults, research shows that EMDR accommodates more rapid recovery from symptoms related to PTSD, BPD, and CPTSD.
Results demonstrated that more frequent scheduling over shorter time resulted in significant decrease in symptoms, while clients experienced no adverse effects, symptom exacerbation, or dropout.
